Keiyo North Students Benefit from Ksh 60 Million NG-CDF Bursary

Keiyo North students have a reason to smile after the launch of a Ksh 60 million bursary program under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF. The program supports students in secondary schools, universities and technical institutions.

Keiyo North MP Adams Kipsanai launched the bursary at Kessup Secondary School and assured parents and students of fair distribution of funds.

“No child should drop out of school due to financial constraints,” said Kipsanai.

KCB Partners with Keiyo North NG-CDF

To make the bursary process easier, Keiyo North NG-CDF has partnered with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) to facilitate direct deposit into school accounts.

“For the first time we have partnered with KCB so that the cheques can be processed and deposited into school accounts immediately. By today end all schools in the sub-county will have received their funds,” Kipsanai said.

For students outside Keiyo North bursary cheques will be sent through courier services.

Scholarship Program for University and Vocational Students

Besides bursaries Keiyo North also has a scholarship program supporting 37 university students and 500 tertiary students mainly at Kipsoen Polytechnic.

“We want to uplift our community by giving them access to quality education,” added Kipsanai.

Parents Thankful

Parents at the launch praised the initiative saying it will ease the burden of school fees and prevent school dropouts.

MP Kipsanai also reaffirmed the role of NG-CDF in addressing education challenges and improving livelihoods.
