KESSHA Releases 2025 Calendar of Events: Key Meetings and National Conference Dates

The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) has released its 2025 calendar of events, with county meetings to take place from February 26 to April 26, 2024. These meetings will give secondary school principals an opportunity to meet with county, regional and national officials from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Ministry of Education (MoE).

KESSHA 2025 Calendar Highlights

1. County Meetings (February 26 – April 26, 2024)

  • Principals will meet county and regional directors from TSC and MoE.
  • Discussions will be on school management challenges, with principals presenting concerns, suggestions and recommendations.
  • Issues raised in these county meetings will be compiled and forwarded to national KESSHA officials for consideration at national level.

2. Regional Meetings and Preparations for the National Conference

  • Principals will analyze the national conference theme and come up with ideas to address school operations issues.
  • Regional feedback will shape the national conference agenda, to ensure principals’ voices are heard in policy discussions.

3. KESSHA National Conference (June 23 – 27, 2025, Mombasa)

  • The annual KESSHA National Conference will be held at Sheikh Zayed Hall, Mombasa.
  • Over 10,000 principals from all over Kenya will attend.
  • MoE and TSC top officials will give speeches and Q&A sessions with school heads.
  • School capitation crisis is expected to dominate the discussions, with principals pushing for timely government release of funds.
  • The conference will also be a chance for school administrators to relax after a long academic year.

4. African Confederation of Principals Conference (August 25 – 28, 2025, Uganda)

  • KESSHA leaders will attend the African Confederation of Principals Conference at Speke Resort, Munyonyo, Uganda.
  • The conference will provide a platform for African school heads to share experiences, discuss policy reforms and explore educational innovations across the continent.

2025 KESSHA Meetings Expectations

With school funding and capitation being key issues, the 2025 KESSHA meetings will be where education policies will be shaped. Principals will push for fair sharing of resources, better teacher promotions and policy changes that improve school management.

As the national conference draws near, all will be watching MoE and TSC officials to see how they will respond to school heads’ concerns.
