KNEC has started training teachers to mark Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA). The list of shortlisted teachers has been released and those selected must now register by paying Ksh 10,500 through a designated paybill number and validate the payment on the KNEC examiners portal.
KJSEA 2025 Dates
The first cohort of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) will sit for their final junior school assessment, KJSEA, between October and November 2025. The assessment will include projects, practicals and theory exams.
- Creative Arts and Sports Project: May to July 2025
- Pre-Technical Studies Project: Entire month of July 2025
- Theory and Practicals: October 24 – November 5, 2025
- Candidate Registration Deadline: March 28, 2025 (Midnight)
Examiner Training
The training will be online first and then in-person at a designated residential venue. Shortlisted teachers will be notified via SMS and the KNEC portal about payment procedures and access to training materials.

Eligibility Criteria for Examiners
To apply for the training, you must:
- Be a practicing teacher in the subject
- Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or Public Service Commission
- Hold a Diploma in Education or higher qualification
- Have at least three years of teaching experience
- Not be under interdiction or disciplinary action from TSC
- Be recommended by your head of institution
- Be 50 years old or younger
- Tutors from Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs) and TVET institutions can apply for Home Science examiner training.
How to Apply for KJSEA Examiner Training
Interested and qualified teachers should follow these steps:
- Go to KNEC Examiners Portal: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke
- If you have a CP2 account, log in using your username and password.
- If you forgot your password, click reset password, enter your mobile number in the format (2547********), and submit to receive a new password.
- If you do not have a CP2 account, click Create Account and follow the instructions to get login credentials.
- After logging in, fill your profile and save it.
- On the dashboard, click Apply for Training and select your subject from the available vacancies.
- Only those who submit all required documents will be shortlisted on first-come, first-served basis.
