KEPSHA Leadership Transition
Fuad Ali is now the official National Chairman of Kenya Primary School Headteachers Association (KEPSHA. The announcement was made today by the association’s National Governing Council (NGC.
Ali took over the role after the passing of former chairman Johnson Nzioka who died in a road accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway in February 2025.
According to KEPSHA’s constitution, the National Vice Chairman assumes the chairman’s role in an acting capacity for up to 90 days in the event of a vacancy. Ali has been acting since March 1, 2025.
New Team
Ali was sworn in alongside Meshack Oketch Roche as the new National Vice Chairman. Roche was previously KEPSHA’s National Publicity and Organizing Secretary and will now be deputized by David Kimani Makimei.
Others who joined the team are:
- Hussein Dubat Yussuf as Deputy National Treasurer to Kennedy Kyeva.
- Nicodemus Musyoka as National Publicity and Organizing Secretary from Roche.
- James Osikedi and David Omondi Radiala to the National Executive Board (NEB.
Fuad Ali’s KEPSHA Vision
In his first address as the confirmed National Chairman, Ali reiterated his commitment to implementing KEPSHA’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. His priority areas are:
- Career progression and mental well-being for primary school headteachers.
- Membership growth to strengthen the association.
- Smooth rollout of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC across Kenya’s primary schools.
- Policies that benefit educators and learners.
With this new team in place KEPSHA will be key in shaping primary education in Kenya.
New Era for Primary Education
Fuad Ali as KEPSHA National Chairman means a new beginning for the association. With a clear direction and a solid team, KEPSHA will address the challenges of primary school headteachers and change the education landscape in Kenya.
By focusing on policy, career and CBC, KEPSHA will create a better space for both educators and learners.
