KNEC announces Examiners Training for KJSEA
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced the upcoming training for examiners who will be assessing the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) exams. According to a notice issued on 4th March 2025, the training will be done in March and April 2025.
Training Structure
The training will start with an online session followed by in-person sessions at designated residential venues. Shortlisted candidates will be informed on how to access online training materials. Upon completion of online segment, candidates will be informed of the venue of in-person training which will be strictly residential.
After training, qualified candidates will be contracted by KNEC to mark KJSEA assessments. The selection of examiners will be based on specific subject needs and KNEC’s recruitment criteria.
Training Fee
KNEC has set the training fee at Ksh 10,500 which is only payable by shortlisted candidates. Payment instructions will be sent via SMS and through the application portal.

Qualified teachers are invited to apply for examiner training in the following subjects:
- English (Composition and Literacy Analysis)
- Kiswahili (Insha and Introduction to Literature)
- Mathematics
- Kenyan Sign Language (KSL)
- Integrated Science Practical
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Agriculture and Nutrition Practical
- Agriculture
- Home Science
- History
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for KJSEA examiner training, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject area at the examination level or higher.
- Be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or the Public Service Commission.
- Hold at least a Diploma in Education.
- Have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.
- Not be under any form of interdiction or disciplinary action by TSC or their employer.
- Provide a recommendation letter from their head of institution.
- Be aged 50 years or younger.
Tutors from Teacher Training Colleges and TVET institutions are encouraged to apply for Home Science.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should apply through KNEC examiners’ portal at https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.
Steps to Apply:
- If you already have a Cp2 account, log in using your username and password.* If you have forgotten your password, click the “reset password” button, enter your mobile number in the format 2547********, and submit to receive a new password.
- Teachers without a Cp2 account click “create account” and follow the prompts to set up your login credentials.
