Director’s Explanation
As evidenced in a letter by the County Director which indicated that the transfer was a normal administrative exercise and not punitive, school principals have been instructed to report forthwith to their new stations for smooth continuity of learning.
Commenting on the transfers, the Director called on the transferred heads to be focused and committed to duties at their new stations, explaining that such movements are vital in ensuring that administrative efficiency is improved and the experience of leadership expands.
Implications for Education in Kisii
The reshuffling of school principals to their destinations promises to make a strong impact on school administration throughout the county. While stakeholders in some schools view such changes as disruptive, education officials have defended the move, arguing that fresh leadership is needed in the various institutions.
This exercise is similar to other administrative changes happening in other counties within Kenya as part of an ongoing effort to streamline education management and improve performance in public schools.
