The Ministry of Education is on a mass recruitment drive to fill chairpersons and council members positions in public universities and constituent colleges across Kenya.
This is in line with the government’s plan to improve governance and leadership in higher education institutions.
Eligibility
Chairperson
Applicants for chairperson must meet the following criteria:
- Have a PhD from a recognized university.
- Have proven leadership and management experience.
- Comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution on integrity.
Council Member
Applicants for university council must:
- Have at least a master’s degree from an accredited institution (except executive master’s degrees).
- Have leadership and management experience.
- Adhere to Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Application & Requirements
Interested applicants should submit their applications to the Ministry of Education by March 4, 2025.
Shortlisted applicants will provide:
- CV
- National ID or valid passport
- Academic certificates and testimonials
- CUE Recognition/Equation Certificate (for foreign qualifications)
Successful applicants will also provide:
- Certificate of Good Conduct (DCI)
- EACC Clearance Certificate
- HELB Clearance Certificate
- KRA Compliance Certificate
- Credit Bureau Clearance Certificate
