Safaricom’s Mpesa Foundation Constructs Marram Comprehensive School at Laikipia-Baringo Border

Mpesa Foundation has allocated KSh35 million for the construction of Marram Comprehensive School as part of its corporate social responsibility to transform lives. This modern school is situated at the border of Laikipia and Baringo counties and will provide education to children in marginalized areas.

Closing the Education Gap in Marginalized Communities

Speaking during the launch, Job Ochari Mpesa Foundation area leader said, “We want to give children in underserved areas the tools for learning.”

“We want to transform the lives of children, especially in marginalized areas where education is a challenge,” Ochari said.

The new facility will provide a modern and comfortable learning environment for students from both counties to achieve their education dreams.

Community Development Partnership

The launch was attended by Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi and Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu who both spoke about the long term impact of the project on their counties.

Governor Irungu said:
“This will be a big milestone for the community through education.”

Governor Cheboi thanked Mpesa Foundation for their commitment to the project and said:
“This will give our children access to quality education in a modern school.”

Mpesa Foundation’s Reach

Marram Comprehensive School is one of the many educational projects by Mpesa Foundation in Kenya. The organization has partnered with communities to implement projects in health, education, economic empowerment and environmental conservation.

Transforming Lives Through Education

This fits into the Foundation’s bigger picture of giving all Kenyan children equal opportunities, especially those in areas where education is a privilege not a right. By building modern infrastructure and resources, Safaricom is inspiring hope and community development across the country.
