Kakamega County Partners with African Divine Church to Boost ECDE at Bondeni Primary School

Kakamega County in partnership with African Divine Church (ADC) is set to build and equip a modern Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centre at Bondeni Primary School. This is to improve the school’s infrastructure and access to education for young children in the area.

Governor’s Education Pledge

During the recent ADC church service at Bondeni, Governor Fernandes Barasa confirmed the county’s commitment to the project. He mentioned Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala who has allocated funds for the ECDE centre this year.

“We will improve the learning environment for our children. I will be there for the official launch of the ECDE centre,” Barasa said.

Safety Concerns

Leaders at the event raised concerns about a big and treacherous valley within the school that has been a threat to students for over 10 years. The governor directed Penina Mukabane, CECM for Environment and Patrick Kundu, CECM for Public Works to fill the valley immediately.

Bursary for Residents

The governor also encouraged residents to take advantage of bursary opportunities and to collect application forms from ward administrators’ offices by January 17. This is part of the county’s ongoing support to students from poor families.

Bondeni’s Infrastructure

Bondeni Primary School has been lagging behind in infrastructure development compared to other schools in Kakamega Municipality. The ECDE centre and the safety concerns will improve the school’s status and learning environment.

ADC’s Education Role

African Divine Church founded in 1949 has been instrumental in Kenya’s education sector especially by offering bursaries to needy students. Bishop John Chabuga who presided over the thanksgiving service reiterated the church’s commitment to education and community development.

A Shared Vision for the Future

This partnership between Kakamega County Government and ADC is a shared vision to uplift the community through education and infrastructure. The ECDE centre at Bondeni Primary School is a step towards a brighter future for the children in the area.
