TSC embraces the new era of efficiency through a unified payroll number system with a projected capacity of human resource information. This is a departure from the old conventional method to a more handy and effective one.
The national government is keen on moving to the next level as it has finally decided to adopt the Unified Human Resource System as a single virtual space that will accommodate data for its employees in the public sector. This particular system will store even the payroll information—central for access and management.
One of the biggest pluses of the new system is the fact that it will assign each and every employee a unique and permanent identity number of the Unified Payroll Number type, and that is including teachers. The UPN will ease and standardize payroll processing. The CARPS Report of 2015 recommended laying down a Unified Human Resource and Payroll Number-generating system for the Public Service. TSC has taken up that recommendation, and come March 2023, each individual teacher will be assigned a UPN.
It should be noted that the UPN is not the same as the TSC/Employment Number, although they both appear within the same line in the T-Pay System. This development is just there for proper management of payrolls with accuracy and effectiveness.
Besides UPN, there is the addition of the T-Pay application platform. It means that teachers can access their payslips from the comfort of their platforms at any time. With only a TSC number and password, teachers can log into the T-Pay system and view their financial information without necessarily visiting the headquarters for huge lines and long waits.
The system does not only enhance payroll management but promotes transparency and easy access. Teachers can now easily access the details of their financial stand. This can be attained and updated since it avails accurate information whenever required.
