St. Joseph’s Boys National School-Kitale is not only an academic giant but also a breeding ground for top sports talent.
During a recent visit, Mr. Nelson Sifuna, Head of the Directorate of Field Coordination and Co-Curricular Activities at the Ministry of Education congratulated 5 students selected by the Kenya Academy of Sports for the International Football Trials. The trials will be held from 26th February to 3rd March 2025 and will give these young athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents on the global stage.
The 5 selected students are:
✅ Alphonse Okello
✅ Jabal Lugendi
✅ Athman Shungu
✅ Rayse Ochieng
✅ Inistin Simiyu
Only top young footballers from across Kenya will be part of this exclusive program where they will get to impress scouts and coaches from the United States. For these students it could be a gateway to international scholarships and professional football careers.
2 Players go to Spain
Apart from the U.S. trials, 2 students—Gabriel Silali (Mwangi) and Caleb Muuo—will travel to Spain later this year. They will represent East Africa at the Donosti Cup Tournament, a big tournament where international scouts will be in attendance and players can advance their careers.
Under the leadership of Head Teacher Cosmas Nabungolo, St. Joseph’s Boys-Kitale is exceling in both academics and sports and providing a conducive environment for future scholars and athletes.
The school congratulates these young footballers and wish them all the best as they prepare for their trials and tournaments.
