TSC has refuted claims that it has issued promotion letters to the 24,000 teachers who were shortlisted for promotions. According to a senior official at the Commission, the process is still ongoing and no final selection has been made for competitive promotions.
Speaking to us, the official who sought anonymity because of the matter, said TSC has not finalized selection criteria for competitive promotions. However, common cadre promotions are done on daily basis.
“That’s not true. We have not even completed the selection criteria for competitive promotions. Common cadre is done on daily basis,” the official said.
TSC had earlier announced 24,000 promotion slots for teachers with the process to be done in phases. The first phase will have 5,690 teachers and the second phase will have the remaining 19,000. The Commission has not given a specific timeline for the selection and issuance of promotion letters.
Teachers waiting for promotion should patient and wait for official communication from the Commission to avoid misinformation.
