TSC’s Advertises Exciting Internship Opportunities for Kenyan Youth

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has recently unveiled thrilling internship opportunities for Kenyan youth, aligning with the Government Internship Policy and Guidelines for the Public Service. This initiative is crafted to provide practical work experience to qualified individuals, with the aim of not only enhancing their competencies but also boosting competitiveness in their respective fields.

Internship Positions and Requirements:

The TSC is offering seventy-eight internship positions across nine specialized areas: Finance & Accounts, Human Resource Management and Development, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Records Management, Statistician, Corporate Affairs, Supply Chain Management Services, Counsellor, and Legal, Labour & Industrial Relations. The Legal, Labour & Industrial Relations specialization encompasses a significant portion of these opportunities.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following basic requirements: academic and professional qualifications, Kenyan citizenship (a prerequisite), an age bracket between 21-35 years, completion of two or more post-graduation years, and unemployment status as graduate degree or diploma holders—specifically in fields without prior internship experience within the public sector. A Certificate of Good Conduct remains a non-negotiable condition for eligibility.

Attributes of the Person:

The TSC places a priority on personal attributes, seeking individuals characterized by integrity, goal-oriented nature, dynamism, self-drive, and diligence. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with proficiency in teamwork, are emphasized.

Duration and Stipend of the Internship:

Selected interns will have the opportunity to engage in a ten to twelve-month internship program. Although the positions are non-remunerative, each intern will receive a monthly stipend of twenty-five thousand Kenyan Shillings (Kshs.25,000) as financial support during their learning experience.

Insurance and Deployment:

Successful applicants must possess valid personal accident and medical insurance coverage to mitigate personal and health-related risks throughout the internship period. The TSC Headquarters or County offices may deploy these successful candidates, offering them a diverse and enriching work environment.

Application Process:

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications online through the TSC recruitment portal (www.tsc.go.ke). The deadline for submissions is December 11th, 2023.

Important Notes:

TSC not only places a strong emphasis on equal opportunity employment but actively encourages individuals from minority groups, marginalized communities, and persons with disabilities to apply. It is crucial for all applicants to note that only those shortlisted will receive contact, and being part of the internship program does not guarantee automatic employment at TSC.
